2015-2016 Parents Retreat
Three deep days on courageous, hope-filled parenting
hope and rest for parents of young adults
About the theme
Christ offers the gift of peace to his people. No matter the circumstance, not matter the difficulty, Christ's peace is always available. It's a peace that we can't manufacture, but only receive. What would it look like for parents to be rooted in communities characterized by peace as they face a new kind of future with their children?
What makes this retreat unique?
Parents of teenagers face a difficult transition as their children become adults. And instead of giving parents hope for this transition, Christian materials focus on fear and failure.
Our parent retreats aim to rebuild hope for this big moment in families' lives. Our staff work hard to help parents build community with one another so that, together, they can invite their youth into Christian adulthood. Contact our office to receive a sample schedule.
"I feel better equipped to love others in my life simply."
I expected Wheatstone to be fabulous, and it was more than fabulous, but not in ways that I expected. This was the unexpected jewel of Wheatstone: That I became part of a community that learned to love and is learning to love as Jesus loves, and by experiencing the gentle yet honest love of God through my community, I feel better equipped to love others in my life simply, with less of me and more of Christ.
