He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Thanks for praying with us.
We gathered this morning to reflect on Psalm 23, sharing the moments in our lives when this Psalm became personally meaningful and rich. We saw that the Lord's companionship is our source of comfort, even when we're lead through shadow and death. Donté shared a beautiful setting of the Psalm, which you can listen to here.
Here are this week's specific requests and praises:
Alumni Ministry - Now that we've come to an initial outline of our future alumni ministry, please pray that it would be really helpful right from its roll-out, pray that alumni would feel immediately cared for, and pray that they be moved to give us lots of good feedback.
Family Ministry - Continue to pray for God's blessing on the Academy Family Advisory Team, and for wisdom for Veronica and Peter as they begin crafting the structure of our future ministry to parents and grandparents of alumni.
Events - We're beginning to book our 2016 Winter events. Pray for the communities who will be receiving Teach them to Pray and Discussion for Transformation in the upcoming months: for fruitful, lasting ministry!
New Year - We'll be further refining our trainings and developing new ones in the new year. Pray for wisdom, clarity, and kingdom-minded strategic thinking as we begin these brand new projects.
2016 Budget - We've come to final drafts of our 2016 budgets. Praise God for his direction, and pray that he would establish the work of our hands.
CRM - We have a new database system! It'll take plenty of work to get it running properly, but the benefits will be huge, so please pray that setup continues efficiently.
December Together - Please continue to pray that the Wheatstone community would be moved to give toward our 2016 goals! This is a beautiful time for us; we can clearly see the big team that loves Wheatstone.
Benefactors - Pray that God would move more of Wheatstone's new friends to become Benefactor-level givers (giving ten thousand dollars or more) at the end of the year.
New Office - The search has begun for the next home for Wheatstone. Please pray the Lord open doors to the unique needs and opportunities for greater ministry capacity. Our short search has already provided possibilities. We pray that we enter this transition smoothly and with necessary finances.
Today, we focused on this passage to help us pray:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
