He would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.

Thanks for praying with us this week.

This week's Psalm delighted us with its evocative parallel: Moses striking the rock, giving the quarreling Israelites water at Meribah, and the generosity of God, offering honey from the rock if his people would only listen and turn to him. We love to remember both God's desire to lavish his people with good gifts, and his commitment to their freedom. This Psalm helps and encourages us.

Here are this week's specific requests and praises:

Public Training Events - We have public Discussion for Transformation  and Teach Them to Pray events coming up with some potential long-term, high-profile clients due to attend. Pray for our team, as we work to market the event, and for favor with the attendees.

Private Events - It's one of our fullest event months ever. We'll be at churches and schools all over the region, spreading the Christian adulthood message and methods. Pray for our endurance and God's favor!

Community Training - Pray for Peter and Chad as they develop Wheatstone's next new training event this spring.

Marketing Materials - We're developing some new info and marketing materials for Partnerships. Pray for speed and quality.

Summer Camp Early Enrollment - This month is important for registration, because it's the last month that attendees can get the early enrollment discount. Pray for lots of February signups.

Summer Camp Hiring - We opened hiring for this summer's camp. Pray that God would bring the right applicants, and that we'd have wisdom to discern who they are throughout the hiring process.

Alumni Ministry - Pray for the new Alumni Advisory Board, in the process of being formed. Pray that God would put the right people on the team for this important beginning.

Family Ministry - Continue to pray for Veronica and the Family Advisory Board as they craft ministry for parents and grandparents.

New Office - The search continues for the next home for Wheatstone, starting April. Please pray the Lord open doors to the unique needs and opportunities for greater ministry capacity. Our short search has already provided possibilities. We pray that we enter this transition smoothly and with necessary finances.

Benefactors and Monthly Givers - Pray for many new committed friends in 2016. We can't grow without an expanded base of benefactor and monthly giver support!

Praying Together

Today we studied this Psalm to help us pray:

    Sing aloud to God our strength;
        shout for joy to the God of Jacob!
    Raise a song; sound the tambourine,
        the sweet lyre with the harp.
    Blow the trumpet at the new moon,
        at the full moon, on our feast day.

    For it is a statute for Israel,
        a rule of the God of Jacob.
    He made it a decree in Joseph
        when he went out over the land of Egypt.
    I hear a language I had not known:
    “I relieved your shoulder of the burden;
        your hands were freed from the basket.
    In distress you called, and I delivered you;
        I answered you in the secret place of thunder;
        I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah
    Hear, O my people, while I admonish you!
        O Israel, if you would but listen to me!
    There shall be no strange god among you;
        you shall not bow down to a foreign god.
    I am the LORD your God,
        who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.
        Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

    “But my people did not listen to my voice;
        Israel would not submit to me.
    So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts,
        to follow their own counsels.
    Oh, that my people would listen to me,
        that Israel would walk in my ways!
    I would soon subdue their enemies
        and turn my hand against their foes.
    Those who hate the LORD would cringe toward him,
        and their fate would last forever.
    But he would feed you with the finest of the wheat,
        and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”
