"Show us your steadfast love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation."

Thanks for praying with us.

This week we considered the Psalmist's confidence to ask God for gifts like those he gave to his people in the past. The psalm is written while things seem bad, and when God seems distant. "Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations?" he asks. Yet during this difficulty, he reflects on God's actions in history and his everlasting character, he commits to wait and listen for God, and he settles into assurance that God will lead his people into his peace.

Here are this week's requests and praises:

Enrollment - Enrollment has officially ended, with us just below our goals, and quite happy with God's faithfulness. Thanks for your all your prayers. Now, please pray that God would prepare the hearts and minds of all the students and leaders who will attend!

Sponsorships - Last year, we admitted 14 students on Sponsorships. This year, we had over 40 Sponsorship applications. Since our numbers of students with financial need almost tripled, we're still scrambling to find the funds to admit all of them. Please pray that they'd come in quickly and we don't have to turn anyone away because of financial need!

Academy Alumni and Academy Families - Continue to pray for Veronica as she prepares to announce our new offerings for alumni and their parents at this year's Closing Ceremony.

Materials - Our office is filling up with fabric, paint, bandanas, buckets, and all the paraphernalia it takes to make summer camp happen. Pray for God's favor with our vendors as we scramble to get everything ready in time!

Peter's Computer - A couple weeks ago, Peter spilled on and dropped his laptop, and we're still waiting to recover the data. Please pray that nothing would be lost, especially the most recent work on his book, and the workshop materials for From Duty to Discipleship.

Benefactors - We'd like to secure two more donations of $10,000 or more before the end of July. Pray for God's blessing and favor with big givers!

Fall Scheduling - Our Partnerships calendar for the fall is already almost full. Pray that God would help us know how to use our time wisely for the best kingdom work.

This week's Psalm

    LORD, you were favorable to your land;
        you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
    You forgave the iniquity of your people;
        you covered all their sin. Selah
    You withdrew all your wrath;
        you turned from your hot anger.

    Restore us again, O God of our salvation,
        and put away your indignation toward us!
    Will you be angry with us forever?
        Will you prolong your anger to all generations?
    Will you not revive us again,
        that your people may rejoice in you?
    Show us your steadfast love, O LORD,
        and grant us your salvation.

    Let me hear what God the LORD will speak,
        for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints;
        but let them not turn back to folly.
    Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,
        that glory may dwell in our land.

    Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;
        righteousness and peace kiss each other.
    Faithfulness springs up from the ground,
        and righteousness looks down from the sky.
    Yes, the LORD will give what is good,
        and our land will yield its increase.
    Righteousness will go before him
        and make his footsteps a way.
