Deal bountifully with your servant, that I may live and keep your word. Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.

Thanks for praying with us.

We shared a powerful experience of prayer today, asking God for the beautiful requests above. One staff member expressed an incredible thirst to understand God's rules. Sometimes they seem like they don't fit with experience, or it seems like there are big gaps in God's commandments that make it hard to know how to navigate complex decisions. But that can only because we don't understand them enough yet. We affirmed that God will certainly sate the thirst of his children, even if we don't know how long he will take. He is generous, gentle, and kind, even in his gift of dry seasons and in his companionship through confusion.

Here are this week's requests and praises:

Summer Camp Early Enrollment - This is the most important registration season of our year. Please pray that God would bring 60 people to register by the end of March!

Summer Camp Hiring - We opened hiring for this summer's camp. Pray that God would bring the right applicants, and that we'd have wisdom to discern who they are throughout the hiring process.

Alumni Community - Pray for Veronica as she continues to ask alumni to take leadership positions in the forming community.

Public Teach Them to Pray event - This Saturday is our first public Teach Them to Pray event. Please pray that God would fill the event with people that he can use to spread prayerfulness through the church.

Holiness Training - Pray for Peter and Chad as they develop Wheatstone's next new training event this spring.

New Office - We believe that we've found the space that God has prepared for Wheatstone! It's nearby in Fullerton, it's perfect for both staff growth and event hosting, it's easily accessible even for people with physical needs, it's strategically-located for out-of-town alumni, and more. Please pray that we can finalize the contract quickly, and that God would confirm this choice by providing the funds we seek to make it a truly beautiful, functional, welcoming event space.

Benefactors and Monthly Givers - Pray for many new committed friends in 2016. We can't grow without an expanded base of benefactor and monthly giver support!

Sponsorship Campaign - We want to reach more families in lower-income communities than ever before, and that will require a bigger Sponsorship Fund than ever before. Pray that God would move many, many people to help extend the gift of Wheatstone to youth who otherwise couldn't experience it.

Office Fundraising - We want to make an incredibly professional space in which to host prayer meetings, lectures, art shows, concerts, and more. Pray for God's blessing as we seek the gifts we need to make that vision a reality.

Praying Together

Today we studied this Psalm to help us pray:

PSALM 119:1-24

     Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
        who walk in the law of the LORD!
    Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
        who seek him with their whole heart,
    who also do no wrong,
        but walk in his ways!
    You have commanded your precepts
        to be kept diligently.
    Oh that my ways may be steadfast
        in keeping your statutes!
    Then I shall not be put to shame,
        having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
    I will praise you with an upright heart,
        when I learn your righteous rules.
    I will keep your statutes;
        do not utterly forsake me!

    How can a young man keep his way pure?
        By guarding it according to your word.
    With my whole heart I seek you;
        let me not wander from your commandments!
    I have stored up your word in my heart,
        that I might not sin against you.
    Blessed are you, O LORD;
        teach me your statutes!
    With my lips I declare
        all the rules of your mouth.
    In the way of your testimonies I delight
        as much as in all riches.
    I will meditate on your precepts
        and fix my eyes on your ways.
    I will delight in your statutes;
        I will not forget your word.

    Deal bountifully with your servant,
        that I may live and keep your word.
    Open my eyes, that I may behold
        wondrous things out of your law.
    I am a sojourner on the earth;
        hide not your commandments from me!
    My soul is consumed with longing
        for your rules at all times.
    You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones,
        who wander from your commandments.
    Take away from me scorn and contempt,
        for I have kept your testimonies.
    Even though princes sit plotting against me,
        your servant will meditate on your statutes.
    Your testimonies are my delight;
        they are my counselors.
