O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

Thanks for praying with us.

Today we talked about what it means to "sojourn" and "dwell" in God's tent, on God's holy hill. We wondered whether it was a present goal or an eschatological one. We wondered whether it was physical or mystical or something else. We compared it to Moses ascending onto Mount Sinai, and God's promise to David that he would build him a house. We remembered John's vision of the New Jerusalem descending, and Nebuchadnezzar's dream of a stone destroying the empires of man and becoming a mountain that filled the whole earth.

And though we couldn't come to a complete and satisfying description of what this Psalm means when it looks toward the man who will "dwell" and "sojourn" with God, the project enriched us. Bringing those images and ideas together helped us wake up to the beauty of this Psalm, and made us ready to pray for God's peace.

Here are this week's requests and praises:

OFFICE

New Office - This is our top request, particularly because it is taking so much longer than expected for us to see it fulfilled. Construction still isn't done, and fundraising is still incomplete. Please pray that God would quickly bring together the resources we need to make this place beautiful for ministry.

ADVANCEMENT

Sponsorship Campaign - We want to reach more families in lower-income communities than ever before, and that will require a bigger Sponsorship Fund than ever before. Pray that God would move many, many people to help extend the gift of Wheatstone to youth who otherwise couldn't experience it.

THE ACADEMY

Summer Camp Enrollment - Pray that God would bring the right students and leaders to The Academy 2016! We're behind our enrollment goals for this year, and we want to make sure that this incredible experience gets extended to as many youth as possible.

PARTNERSHIPS

Holiness Training - Pray for Peter and Chad as they develop Wheatstone's next new training event this spring.

New Events - After an incredibly busy season of Partnerships, we're in a little lull, and eager to offer additional events. Pray that God would move churches and schools to sign up for talks, retreats, and trainings.

Praying Together

Today we studied this Psalm to help us pray:

PSALM 15

    O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent?
        Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

    He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
        and speaks truth in his heart;
    who does not slander with his tongue
        and does no evil to his neighbor,
        nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
    in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
        but who honors those who fear the LORD;
    who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
    who does not put out his money at interest
        and does not take a bribe against the innocent.
    He who does these things shall never be moved.
