Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
This week's Psalm begins with blessings. As we discussed the Psalm this morning, we noticed the act of blessing someone implies the presence of God in their lives, and that it binds people together. Your praying and blessing for us likewise makes God close, and keeps us bound together. May you be blessed for your faithfulness!
New Advancement Officer - Praise God for bringing a new Advancement Officer to Wheatstone, Donte Apperwhite! He'll be working with us as a contractor on all sorts of big goals through the end of the year. (Email introduction coming soon!)
The Academy Family Campaign - After two weeks of specific prayer, we're still $5000 from our goal. Let's keep it up!
Academy Director Hiring - Pray for the new Director of The Academy as she prepares to join the Wheatstone team in December! (More news to follow in coming weeks.)
Group Enrollment - Pray that God would move churches and schools to register groups of students and educators for The Academy 2016.
Thanksgiving - Praise God for the new ministry friendships we've been able to form over the past several months, especially at last week's Transformation Ministries conference. Pray for these relationships to bear fruit as we seek to serve local churches and schools.
Teach Them to Pray Event Workbooks - Pray for Peter and Lisa as they finalize the materials and resources we will give to every participant at future prayer leadership training events.
Events - Pray for our upcoming events in November and December, including our first full Teach them to Pray training event.
Location - We're planning to move office locations in 6 months as we grow out of our current space. Pray for wisdom as we seek a hospitable new spot.
This week, we focused on the following passage to help us pray:
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and give you support from Zion!
May he remember all your offerings
and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices!
May he grant you your heart's desire
and fulfill all your plans!
May we shout for joy over your salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!
Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.
O Lord, save the king!
May he answer us when we call.
