"I found myself in tears when the time came to say goodbye.
I just wanted to let you know that I am truly grateful for the sponsorship that made it possible for me to attend The Academy."
andre, 2009 alumnus
My name is Jasmin, and I want to deeply thank you for your generosity which enabled me to attend Wheatstone this summer! I would not have been able to attend without the assistance you provided. Wheatstone changed my life and I am so thankful to you who made it possible!
Before I came, I lacked understanding in how to live as a mature Christian adult. But through Wheatstone, I received the understanding, the passion and the desire to deeply love God with every aspect of my being: my heart, my soul, my mind and my strength. I learned how to think courageously. I learned how to feel. I learned how to nourish my soul. Illuminating the relationship between truth, goodness and beauty, Wheatstone implanted a desire in my soul to cultivate holiness and to become virtuous. Now I understand what it means to be an adult much more clearly.
Even just this week, as I commenced my freshman year in college at a secular school, my Wheatstone experience has impacted me, because it helped me understand, first, the importance of finding community with like-minded believers, and second, how not to be afraid of seeking truth in a secular environment. Jesus reigns everywhere! I can honestly say that because of Wheatstone I'm not afraid of adulthood, like I was before.
So, again, I want to thank you for making Wheatstone possible for me. May God bless you and keep you!
